Garden Show Saturday 3^rd August 2013

Spring has arrived and it's time to think about sowing seeds; planning which vegetables and flowers to plant for…. your

GARDEN SHOW 2013 entries.

Abbotskerswell GARDEN SHOW planning is underway and phone calls are being made to last year’s kind supporters

requesting again their generous sponsorship for the 2013 event - without such sponsorship the event would not be the

huge success it is! Early sponsorship confirmation will allow the Garden Show sub-committee, ably led by Dave Wilds,

to complete the GARDEN SHOW 2013 programme, which will be published in a future Abbtalk.

Enormous thanks again to all those who sponsored the GARDEN SHOW in 2012, which not only allowed the event to

run, but made a small profit last year. This was helpful after the high cost to install the 40 Solar Panel Array now visible

on the Village Hall roof. Your Village Hall generates all the energy that its users consume. We are not just carbon

neutral…. we are carbon positive.

MayDay Monday 6th May 2013 - May Fayre @ Village Hall

As always, the outdoor events season in Abbotskerswell starts with "ye olde may day celebrations" So come and

be entertained by children with traditional dancing around our new portable maypole..... Procession

congregates 1.45pm at Babbinis. The event is proving very popular with our village school children this year.

So please come and support them!

Craft fayre, music, balloon modelling, magic - all inclusive entertainment. Refreshments, including BBQ, and

raffle with profits going towards your Village Hall refurbishments.

Entries for May Queen and attendants will close in mid april - watch for school newsletter and advert in

Model Stores. Put the date and time in your diary, and support the young people of the village.

The Priory to open its doors

Visitors are being invited to discover the Retirement Villages lifestyle at
an Open Day on Tuesday, 26th March.

The Priory is an age-exclusive community set in picturesque countryside near
Abbotskerswell. Residents own their own property while benefiting from
exclusive access to country club style facilities and a full social
calendar.

The Open Day is the chance for those who want to see the lifestyle and
properties on offer to drop in, meet staff, tour the village and talk to
residents.

Properties for sale will be open for viewing and refreshments will be served
during the day. Staff will be on hand to answer questions.

Christmas Craft Fare

On behalf of Abbotskerswell Veterinary Centre I would like to extend an invitation to you our

Christmas Craft fare on Saturday 24th November 2012 between 1pm and 4pm.

There will be Christmas cards and gifts on sale, seasonal foods, refreshments, kids crafts, Raffle in aid of Devon Air Ambulance, Santa's Grotto and a tombola with some great prizes.

Entries are now in for the Scarecrow competition 2012. The Scarecrows must remain on display until after the Garden Show on the 4th August. Prizes are to be distributed at the Garden Show.
