The Parish Council (consisting of 8 elected residents - see below for detail) meets monthly, usually the last Monday in the month. Abbotskerswell also has a District Councillor (Teignbridge District Council) as well as the services of a County Councillor (Devon County Council.).

Items of current concern to the Parish Council and subcommittees include:

  • Proposal for development of new homes between Abbotskerswell and Newton Abbot

Abbotskerswell belongs to the Parish Paths Partnership, an agreement with the County Council to look after the public rights of way in the village. We have 10 public rights of way and our Footpath Co-ordinator can be contacted by Email via the contact for the Parish Council.

The Parish Council also has an Emergency Plan which is operated by the Emergency Planning Team. Information on the Plan can be obtained by clicking here.
