Are you interested in becoming our new Community Road Warden?

This would involve being trained to plan, prioritise and organise work, such as litter picking, road closure for events like street parties, weed clearance, sign cleaning, clearing drains and gullies, grass and hedge cutting (we employ someone to do this on a regular basis, so this would be an unusual event). You might also act as our community champion encouraging us all to report potholes and other road defects to Devon County Council. There is more information in this document here.

Training would be provided by Devon County Council in Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual as well as insurance, providing that the works are within the terms of the agreement which you can download here. DCC will also loan the necessary equipment.

If this appeals to you, and there is no restriction as to how many people volunteer, so you can do this with a spouse, or friend, please contact the PC Clerk, Sharon Raggett
