Councillor : Mary COLCLOUGH

As a Teignbridge District Councillor representing Denbury, Abbotskerswell, Broadhempston, Ogwell and Woodland, I have over the past 16 years demonstrated the benefits of my INDEPENDENT status on many occasions. Being free of political encumbrance, I have been able to vote according to my own good judgement and common sense and always, in what I have considered to be, the best interest of those I represent.

As both a District and Parish Councillor, I have always given my very best in the many and varied commitments I have undertaken, but my overriding concern and always my first priority has been to achieve the best possible for those I represent.

During my 14 years of District Council membership, I have accrued a wealth of valuable experience in all aspects of local government, which enables me to quickly find my way around the system for the benefit of those I represent. I am experienced at representing people and their problems at a 'down to earth level'. I am persistent in ensuring that local needs and problems are dealt with, and I am easily approachable and always available.

Planning:

As a District Councillor I am fully committed to good planning, and have always paid diligent attention to all planning applications, particularly those that may be viewed as an unwanted intrusion of our countryside, and those that could have an adverse effect upon designated Conservation Areas.
