Councillor : Kevin EALES
I am a Devonian, born in Newton Abbot, and I know I am fortunate to live in this most beautiful part of England. Our family first moved to Abbotskerswell in 1961. My career took me away from Devon in 1968. I returned to Devon in 1992, after which I was able to bring my family back to the village in 1997.
I have worked for the Meteorological Office, Ministry of Defence and the Health Service during a varied career in IT. Currently I work for a Devon company employing 36 people providing specialist computing services to the NHS.
I have been a Councillor since 2004 and I am currently Vice Chairman. I am also the Chairman of the planning sub-committee. I help to promote IT facilities in the village, which includes maintaining this web site.
I am also Secretary to the Village Hall Trust.
My wife and I both enjoy the Village Twinning Association events, too.
I am delighted to be able to dedicate more time to the village and village events and in a short time appreciate the work that goes on behind the scenes to make Abbotskerswell such a vibrant community in its prized location here in Devon.
As a Councillor I shall make every effort to achieve the fine balance between progress and preservation on behalf of all Villagers.
