Do you want funding for activities in the village?
Teignbridge District Council is participating in a countrywide programme, part funded by Sport England, and part funded by Devon County Council. This is a three year programme running until September 2013, with each parish having access to its own significant pot of funding. If you fancy giving Judo or dance or rugby, or any other sporting activity a try, this initiative can help get you started.
We currently have a variety of activities in the village including cricket, netball and Zumba classes but this funding is available to set up and kick start any activity that people in the parish would benefit from. Ideally activities should be 8 - 12 sessions long, and available to anyone over the age of 5 years old. Assistance is available from Ben Ayres, our Active Villages co-ordinator at Teignbridge District Council to help set up activities, find coaches, buy equipment and offer guidance. An Active Villages registration form would need to be completed by all particpants but this would be a simple process.
